Written by LEVEL Team | Feb 19, 2026 6:00:00 AM

Joey Flamm is the Director of Integrative Wellness at LEVEL Wellness, where he’s using his background as a nurse practitioner to truly change the game. Known as someone with an approach that’s holistic, thoughtful, and centered on the full picture of a person’s well-being, Joey doesn’t just treat symptoms; he helps people feel better in every area of their lives. Before joining Level, Joey was the owner and lead provider at Run Aesthetics, a medical-grade aesthetics clinic. Due to his passion for patient care, he was voted a finalist for Best Nurse Practitioner in the 2023 Robertson County Main Street Awards. That kind of dedication speaks volumes to who he is as a healer, a leader, and someone who makes every patient feel seen and supported.

How did you get into wellness, both personally and professionally?

My passion for wellness began early through sports and was fueled by the show Sports Science on ESPN, which introduced me to the science behind human performance. This led to a lasting interest in how physiology, biomechanics, and technology can improve overall health, not just for athletes, but for everyone. I’ve since developed a strong focus on preventative care, lifestyle interventions, and evidence-based strategies for optimizing well-being. My goal is to help shift healthcare toward proactive, personalized wellness; empowering individuals to take ownership of their health and live with greater vitality, resilience, and purpose through sustainable, science-backed approaches.

What excites you most about being part of Level?

The opportunity to take what I have been working on for years and apply it to a larger scale of patients and humans in general. With each conversation, my love for these topics and passions grows. I feel that Level is looking to show patients and clients how health and wellness should be delivered and managed for both quality and quantity of life.

What misconceptions about wellness do you wish people understood?

Wellness is often misunderstood as simply the absence of disease or a focus on physical fitness. As a nurse practitioner specializing in wellness optimization, I view wellness as a proactive, holistic approach that includes physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being across the lifespan. Many patients assume they are “well” if labs are normal and they feel fine, yet may still face risks from poor sleep, chronic stress, or inadequate nutrition. True wellness involves optimizing daily function and preventing chronic disease. My mission is to empower patients to take ownership of their health, aiming for a life where they thrive, not just survive.

What does “Integrative Wellness” mean to you?

Integrative wellness means addressing the whole person in regard to body, mind, and spirit. We accomplish this by combining evidence-based medical care with complementary therapies that support overall well-being. As a health and wellness provider, it involves creating individualized care plans that prioritize prevention, lifestyle interventions, and patient empowerment. This approach recognizes that physical health is deeply connected to mental, emotional, and social factors. Integrative wellness values collaboration across disciplines, blending traditional and holistic practices to achieve optimal health outcomes. It’s about treating root causes, not just symptoms, and helping individuals achieve balance, resilience, and lasting vitality in all areas of their lives. Level strives to accomplish this by placing each discipline under one roof.

Go-to wellness pick-me-up?

Getting in a workout that includes weightlifting and cardio to lift my spirits and get my mind back on track. I feel my best when I feel like I have done something hard that places some strain on me, both physically and mentally.

Favorite workout song?

What a tough question because I listen to literally everything! Top 1% Spotify music listeners the past three years. I’ll go with “All the Stars” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
